1956 October Revolution Commemoration (2025/10/26)
The MMCC INVITES EVERYONE to the 69TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION OF THE 1956 HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION

Date: Sunday, October 26, 2025
Time: 4:00 P.M. Hungarian service
4:45 P.M. Wreath laying followed by program and potluck dinner
Place: Cistercian Abbey
Address: 3550 Cistercian Rd.
Irving, TX 75039
We kindly ask everyone to contribute to the dinner by bringing any delicious Hungarian dishes, appetizers, or desserts to share with friends.
As the years pass, more of our ’56-er friends are leaving us. Although we keep their memory in our hearts, we must do more. It is up to us to ensure that the next generations (their children and grandchildren) know about the events of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and are proud of their grandparents and relatives, many of whom gave their lives to fight against communism and for the freedom we enjoy today.
During the event, a few copies of the “Courage for Freedom,” bilingual book will be available for purchase, written with the help of MMCC volunteers for the 60th anniversary of the revolution. If more copies would be needed, we can order additional sets from the publisher.
Since our organization operates solely on membership fees, donations, and volunteer work, we kindly ask everyone to support us according to their means, either through annual membership fees, donations, or volunteering for various tasks. The MMCC gratefully acknowledges all financial support with a tax-deductible receipt.
For students, participation in volunteer work can also be certified.
Everyone is welcome to attend the commemoration!
